PROFESSIONAL BIG BAND - The members of the band are local Washington DC musicians that in many cases have decades of experience and are usually joined by aspiring top level youth performers.

Our “Best of the Swing Era” big band library contains a vast number of favorites including charts by Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Glen Miller, Stan Kenton, Artie Shaw, Jimmy Lunceford, Tommy & Jimmy Dorsey, Chick Webb, Harry James, Charlie Barnet, Woody Herman, Cab Calloway and the list goes on.

The library includes post Swing Era charts including those by Dizzy Gillespie, Maynard Ferguson, Billy Eckstine, Buddy Rich, Thad Jones / Mel Lewis Orchestra, etc. It is a combination of the Tom Cunningham Orchestra and New Columbia Swing books along with other sourced charts.

Our goal performing this repertoire is to keep the music alive and our focus is to pass the tradition of “SWING” on to the next generations.
